Along with the development of the times, an organization have to be better
prepared for the dynamic competition. By having more effective, efficient and
productive company operations, employees with high levels of performance are
needed. This research was conducted to examine the effect of transformational
leadership on job performance in organizations by using work engagement and job
satisfaction as a mediation of these influences.
The method used in this study is a quantitative method with Structural Equation
Model-Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS) in the SmartPLS 3.0 program. The sample
used in this study was 166 respondents where the sample came from the slovin formula
approach from a total population of 284 people.
The tests of the direct effect show that transformational leadership has a significant
effect on job performance. Transformational leadership has a significant effect on work
engagement. Transformational leadership has a significant effect on job satisfaction.
Work engagement has a significant effect on job performance. Job satisfaction has a
significant effect on job performance. In testing the indirect effect shows that work
engagement can mediate the effect of transformational leadership on job performance.
Job satisfaction can mediate the effect of transformational leadership on job
performance.
Based on the test results it can be seen that overall the hypothesis proposed in this
study is supported. So that further research is expected to be able to add other variables
such as Organizational Citizenship Behavior, or Work Motivation, and can develop
this research with a wider scope of objects. In addition, future research is also expected
to be able to carry out a more in-depth analysis related to performance and years of
service that employees have while working so as to produce more in-depth information
